I've just heard of a shepherd that's owner has recently died. The family plan on having her put to sleep this week. About all I know is she's 12 years old, has hardly ever been walked (her claws are apparently very bad), she is not good with men, children, strangers, pulls on the lead, and her eyes are going. It's such a shame. The family say putting her to sleep is for the best, but I can't stop thinking about her, what a sad life she must have had and how lovely it would be to have a few more years with someone who can love and care for her. I feel like intervening and trying to help rehome her. Not sure how easy it would be to rehome her at this age and with her various issues. I'm going to try to find out some more about her, maybe see if I can get the family to let me see her. Would love to foster her and help find her a loving home. Trouble is I have my 2 year old grandson living with me so don't think I can help that way. They seem adamant she has to go this week. Any ideas? What would you do?

Awww poor thing. I would love to help but cant and dont know anyone who could.

Aw that's terrible - hope you find a way for her to be ok. I don't know what to suggest other than you should try and ring up some local rescues in your area or something and see if they can help out....

Yeah, waiting for her to get back to me. If I hadn't got my granson living with me I'd take her in, keep her and Sabre separate, and sort something out for her.

She's been kept in a "dog room" most of her life, hardly ever walked, the rest of the family don't want her. I just think she deserves a 2nd chance and a little hapiness in her life. Want so much to help her. Going to try to get to see her and see if I can find out more. Not sure if the family will let me, I think they have made their minds up. Just can't sit back and do nothing though!

Couple of people have offered to help, possible short term foster home, only days though but it's a start. At least I know there's some hope.

To be honest I was thinking of asking the people who I'm renting off if I can have the keys early, I know there is still work to be done on the house, but I could stay there with her for a couple of weeks until we can sort something.

Ok, I'm getting carried away now!! Need to find out more off the owners tomorrow!!
