PostSubject: freds legs    Tue Oct 11, 2011 4:05 pm

fred hasnt been feeling too good today ..

i noticed fred wasnt too good on his back legs this morning, he could only just walk on them and he was very unsteady and very stiff .. he struggled to get up onto the sofa, i had to help him up

i left him at home while i walked bella, when i got back he was pretty much the same, still looking uncomfortable. but he did manage to get upstairs and go lie on nicoles bed out the way.

after sitting thinking about it... the signs were all there tbh, i was hoping he had just pulled something or slipped on the decking this morning, but for the past week or so, hes been moodier than usual.. his random growling at people or things on the street,(which i only mentioned to alan, bellas trainer a couple of weeks ago) if the girls have accidentally bumped into his backend over the past few days hes turned round pretty sharpish at them!

i dont know if ive over walked him or not walked him enough recently .. im trying to think of everything

you only have to look at him to know hes not feeling good ... he's been rested all day, so if hes not feeling or looking any better tomorrow i will book him in at the vets,if only for some pain relief while he rests up

fingers crossed he is more perky tomorrow

if hes feeling up to it... i'll take him out for half an hour and see how he is ... if hes just as stiff when he gets up, i'll book him in and see what the vet says

shelley half a hr might be too long , just let him plod around i would, until the vets seen him anyway , the damp weather is effecting all the dogs with arthritis i will not take bonnie far this might sound awful but what would i do if her legs went altogether , how would i get her home , this really worries me when i take her out so its always near the house , hope fred feels better soon

He's just had me in a panic tonight I heard him crying at the top of the stairs so I went running up and the little bugger looked at me and trotted downstairs

    The little tinker.
On a serious note have you any ideas what this can be, I mean could he have pulled something, strained something, I know this sounds reallt crazy but is he turns quick if one of the others knocks him, like he is in pain, that can be quite a good thing, as usually its a strain etc isnt it.
lol Am i making sense here xxx

poor Mr Fredly give him some hugs from us please shell. Hope he is better. Brogan has been affected by the damp weather but with this Devil's Claw his mobility is a lot better so much so he beats me up the stairs now Like Sue said I only take Brogan out for shorter walks and massage his legs when his mobility is bad and make sure he is dried off really well I think brogans a big dog to be carrying home let alone the likes of bons and mr fredly
