PostSubject: The reason we holiday in Bonnie Scotland   Sun Sep 11, 2011 1:23 pm

After many holidays abroad in red hot temperatures all our friends said we would always regret ever getting a dog if we didnt put them in kennels to continue our hols in glorious sunshine. I told then they would be wrong and to this day i can honestly say I have never regretted it! We have walked for miles not meeting another person always finding peace and solitude with scenery like this.........

Our first walk was a short one 2 miles around the River Cree in Newton Stewart

Our next walk was about 5 miles from Kirkudbright along the river Dee and back again

this is where we sat for a picnic along the river bank

we had to keep the dogs on leads as it was farmland

go on mam giz a bit of yer sandwich

we walked around the river that Threave castle is on we couldnt go over as I dont think Marley and kala would have fit on the small boat for the crossing!

    then onto the woodland walk

another walk took us to beautiful glentrool

this is Bruces stone in Memory of Robert the Bruce

and what a beautiful place to be situated overlooking stunning Loch Trool

beautiful Jude, we have always said we want to go, but we just cant because of all the animals, in saying that Ste is going in 10 days time with his dad,and I,m left home alone with the mob.

    what was the weather like?

when on our walks we hardly saw anyone, obviously if we went into towns but we try to avoid that as its not much fun for the dogs, When we found Brighouse bay there was just another couple on with their dog they went after about 10 mins. We always holiday outside school hols so it is quieter then. You can always find somewhere peaceful in scotland

Me wanna go there I haven't been to Scotland since Craig and I got married 16 and a half years ago and then it was Edinburgh but I have always loved Scotland and the Highlands Its the scenery its breathtaking. Think Craig would be round all the Whisky Distillery's and I'd be walking the dogs Maybe we should move there.

Ed and I want to retire to Scotland we love it there ed has an obligatory trip to a distillery and buys a bottle thats his holiday treat. This year we went to the Bladnoch distillery and had a lovey picnic in the grounds by the river and a woodland walk.
