PostSubject: Not sure which way to turn   Mon 18 Jul 2011 - 16:40

As you all know Lucy had a gorgeous litter of 4 boys back in May...I have advertised them from 7.5 weeks of age and I CANNOT SELL THEM!!!

I havent had ONE FECKING phone call...They are advertised locally and also in the DET.....I did try on facebook (bad move)but withdrew after getting idiots offering pittance

They are currently up at £200 and £175 respectively....however tomorrow I need to get them vaccinated and they will be chipped at the same time, so an extra £200 i am paying out, oh less 10% discount from the vets, whoopie!!...I dont know what the heck I am going to do with them...hubby has said even if we can sell two that would be a help but if not it means the caravan will have to go and we have just bought a 2nd hand fecking jeep to enable usto tow a heavier caravan when needed ( i knew it would be a bad idea getting a fecking jeep, told him we shouldnt be in any rush to get rid of the other car as hoping to keep our current caravan at least 3 years or so)...I really do not know what to do, who to turn to or what to do....and please no i would NEVER EVER harm them.....

Does anyone have any ideas at all?? No matter how small....I need help, seriously please...anyone??? I am so at my wits end with the worry, and its starting to really upset me. i dont want them to go to anybody, i need them to go to good homes where they will be loved and well cared for.

hiya hun .... was talking to sarah at kennelgate today about the pups ...and i said i would ask if you had sold any .... i have my answer

what do you mean the caravan will have to go??? i dont get it lol ....

have you tried other petshops to advertise them ... such as pet warehouse in swadlincote ... thats a good one ... maybe google other petshops in the area and take over a poster

join jack russell forums and ask for their advice ....

i will text my aunt for you, she lives on a farm, and see if shes ready for another JRT yet and see if she knows anyone

@ Shelley, If we end up keeping all 4 pups there is no way we are able to keep our caravan as we wouldnt be able to take 6 dogs away with us,( we bought it so we could take lucy and busta with us) most sites allow a max of 3...and wouldnt be fair on the in-laws to have to look after them all, they are a handful now, so i dread to think what they be like in a few months....

I have advertised in both Kennelgates, (Chad and Alvaston, where Jo has gone) Pets At Home, shop where i work, another local shop and the pet shop at Spondon....we then put them in the DET ( 4 nights) and i have had orders to put them on preloved, which i have done begrudgingly. I hate them sorta sites...

I advertised locally as i have not long had the jeep so i am still abit wary of driving something bigger and in all honesty i havent a clue how to get to swad....i am crap at finding places

I have them advertised on the JRT forum which i did today, I will ask their advice, was going to a bit ago but thought i would come in here first means i am getting to know people in here and i know that you'd be honest and not 'beat about the bush'

I dont know, just really getting to me as hubby is kinda getting annoyed as well....but it aint my fault they are all boys and no one is phoning xxx

ive text my aunt .... if she gets back to me i will let you know by text hun as tia wants the computer

my aunt generally knows of people who want jack russels lol .... but they may want them with docked tails.. that will be the only drawback

i'll get thinking of ideas on how to advertise and find them new homes ....

    Thanks Shelley, much appreciated

Said to hubby that people may want tails docked but tbh i dont think its right and also you need a special licence to have it done, besides that i wouldnt do it anyway, they show alot of emotion through their tales...

They are getting vacs tomorrow and chipped....price is 175 ovno (2nd vac will be paid for but need to go to companion care at derby to have it done)

PostSubject: Re: Not sure which way to turn   Tue 19 Jul 2011 - 21:30

Hi all thanks for the advice. I am taking it on board, slowly but surely...

I'll let you know where I am at now..

Pups have been vaccinated and chipped, i couldnt leave it any longer esp now our local fox is back so i have had them done, however one of the pups now needs an operation. He has a hernia in his testicle sac. I did query as to why he had big tatties as they started growing from two weeks old, was told that he is just probably more developed than the others and its not unheard of. He was checked over by the nurse when they were flead at 6 weeks of age and she said that it most definately was his tatties. Today it turns out not, they are there but so is this hernia and its best sorted asap. She is ringing tomorrow to let me know the price and also to see if Jason (the vet) will castrate him at the same time, however they dont normally do it til they are 6 months but they may make an exeption.

I wont be dropping the price at all now, non negotiable, esp with everything that has happened and i may well end up with 2 pups as people may not want to take this little guy on but then again i guess if he has had the snip it may be more favourable, will have to wait and see i guess. Also I have advertised them on the jack russell forum and had nothing but compliments about the pups, they seem to be well impressed and pleased to see JRT's as they should be, whatever that means lol, and also been advised on there not to drop the price anymore. Thats all very well but it dont help me selling them lol.

Wil lkeep you all informed as to what happens and thanks for everything

    YOU LOT ROCK

not much atm...what can he say?...if its gotta be done then so be it, could do with my grandads money right now but its gonna take a minimum of 12months, and thats if they sell the bungalow, oh hum, s**t happens

i am in a way glad he didnt sell as no doubt he would have been back or i would have been paying the vets bill, so if its sorted now then he shouldnt have any problems, vets advised me to ring up the ins people as they might pay for it but will find out when i ring shortly, was hoping vets would have called by now with an estimate but not heard anything, i'll maybe call them once the rebels have calmed down a bit, just really pissed offf that it wasnt picked up on sooner
