Totally. I spend days, if not out in the kennel, down the field training or on the phone/internet dealing with dogs.
I get phone calls from people I have not even sold a dog too, or not even I breed I have been associated with - asking for help. If I can, I will.
I know the pitfalls of the internet and I know it has made the world smaller and sometimes nasty. Everything one does seems to be common knowledge now and sometimes people with the best intentions tar everyone with the same brush.
I use whatever medium I can to help the dogs I have in my care who need families get to good homes. No matter what. I will do anything to enable that and I go through so many potentials before getting to that perfect one for that dog. I don't just do it for the puppies I sell and not even just for any I happen to get back, but for people who ask randomly. If I can I will!
I know that a lot of people are getting rubbed up the wrong way, as I am a strong forthright overbeariing (sometimes) person but my one and only concern is the dogs. Bottom line. I market like I would sell a kitchen, BUT there is a BIG difference.....I VET the people who enquire and I turn away 90% of all enquires.
Example, recently I had an enquiry for a puppy (not got any) and they filled in my questionnaire...I turned them away due to their work commitments (not a bad thing but doesn't suit me) I got an email from them yesterday stating they have booked a puppy from a breeder (in it 5 minutes) Go figure! some folk will sell to anyone just to get 'rid' of puppies!!!!
Oooops sorry soap box!!!

I'll stop now before I get angry because of the ones that sell puppies all the time and have no idea what they are doing with the breeds and sell to the first buyer, folk who don't take the stuff they bred back etc et c....I could go on. But I won't.
Bad day I suppose and this has just caught me at the wrong time. I am passionate as it is a way of life for me, not a hobby.
