A DISTRAUGHT dog owner has just two days to save his pet’s life because he can’t afford to pay dog wardens to release it.
Gavin Lane has been told that unless
he can raise the £125.20 by Monday, his two-year-old husky-collie-cross,
Milo, will be put down. The dog, which is micro- chipped, escaped
his family’s garden and while Mr Lane was out looking for him, it was
picked up by a warden.Mr Lane, who is unemployed and supports his
partner and 18-month-old daughter Milly on Jobseekers Allowance, was
told it would cost £35 for his dog to be released. And the bill has risen every day because of the cost of kennelling it.Now Mr Lane has been told that unless a space at an animal charity can be found, the dog will be destroyed on Monday.
