AXEL; 6 Months old Long Haired GSD

6 months old Axel was picked up as a stray by the dog warden, they believe he has been living rough and possibly was going to a chained guard dog. His coat is badly matted and smells so bad that he couldn’t go into anybodies house. Nobody can get near Axel due to him snapping and growling because he is so nervous. He as a complete fear of his lead so moving him will cause him undue stress at this time. Axel is currently getting confidence building lessons and when ready specialist groomers will visit him hopefully within the next week or so. He will need to go into an experienced home or foster home with no children and a stable resident dog to learn from. This is one poor little puppy that has the worst and most unfair start to life. The UK German shepherd rescue aim to give Axel all the support and training he needs, updates will be added weekly, please feel free to donate towards helping Axel on is road to recovery.

    He looks so so scared

I wish I had the room for him

that pic would bring tears to a lot of men Judes it's so sad to look at him. you can tell how fearful he is he won't let anyone go near him.
It's going to be a long and gentle process I reckon.
He needs a forever home straight away imho, It's going to take a lot for this dog to trust people, he will need firm but very gentle persuading with someone who is experienced in these type of cases, maybe with an older dog too that he can look up to, and will probably trust before he will trust a human being.

    AXEL UPDATE.....

Finally Paul managed to get Axel from the dog pound Tonight way to go.

POOR BOY IS SCARED OF EVERYTHING

    ONE LAST LOOK BEHIND HIM

    SAFE AT LAST

PAUL SAID" Axel put on a brave face after we walked him, look at that coat and the smell makes you want to throw up.

WAIT UNTIL YOU SEE THIS LAD NOW

He spend 4 hours at the groomers and smells and looks a lot better, he's a really nice dogs, like people dogs and my cat, not bad for the first day.

I WILL KEEP YOU ALL UPDATED ON HIS PROGRESS
