PostSubject: Rory not been well   Fri Sep 17, 2010 8:20 pm

3 weeks ago we had Rory to the vets, he had had diarreah really bad, the vet could find nothing wrong, gave him some Kaogel and it cleard up.
well its occured again, he has been producing cow pats for a week now, I have been giving him Kaoline and a bland diet.
took him back to the vets today, temp ok, couldn't feel any blockages so he's been given Kaogel again and I have to take 3 stool samples (nice) in on Monday.
Rory seems well in himself but I am worried about him.

Sorry to hear Rory is under the weather and that you've been getting your hands dirty - literally.

Its hard not to worry i know when Brogans had diarrhoea we ususally starve him for 24hrs give cool boiled water and then feed him boiled chicken and rice . It clears him up a treat. Being responsible like you are I'm sure you've done this already but if not it may be worth a try .

After a quick google search I also found this http://www.isabellevets.co.uk/dog-diarrhoea

There may be something useful in it for you I hope.
Rory will be feeling a lot better soon and that you will feel less worried too

    hows rory doing now?...

fred often gets diahhreah, i used to panic and rush him to the vets, now i just do as the others say and starve him then give him chicken and rice and monitor how hes doing...

you know your dog best though hun, you do what makes you and rory feel better
