Family's joy at being reunited with pet pooch Bob after eight week search

A GLASGOW family have been reunited with their pet dog - TWO MONTHS after he went missing.
Two-year-old border collie Bob vanished from his home in the city's Knightswood area back in May.
Frantic owners Sarah Jane Richer and husband Keith Watson, along with
their four children, contacted local kennels and the police, put up
posters and even offered a reward for the pooch's return.
When there was no sign after eight weeks, the family began to give up hope.
But Bob is now back with his family after a caring member of the public
took him to the Scottish SPCA, who Identified him from his microchip.
Sarah Jane said: "We were over the moon when we discovered Bob had been found safe and well.
"The whole family was really missing him, especially the children and
our other collie Saski, who was whining for him every night.
"She would pace the garden looking for him, it was such a shame.
"Bob is a real character and a big part of our family.
"The children love playing with him and he adores our pet rabbit, who he occasionally herds back into his hutch!
"We are going to get Bob neutered which will hopefully prevent him from
wandering off again - although he hasn't tried to go any further than
the front garden so maybe he has learned his lesson."
The wandering collie was handed into the charity's Dunbartonshire and
West Scotland Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Milton on July 13.
A member of the public had seen him straying in Knightswood Park in May
and decided to offer him a home. But caring for energetic Bob became too
much for the lady so she handed him over.
The centre's manager Nicola Greer said:"We always give every animal that
comes into our care a good check and we use a scanner to see if they
    have an identity microchip.
"Thankfully, Bob did and we were able to contact his owner and reunite her with Bob the very next day.
"This just goes to prove how important it is to microchip your pets. They are much more likely to be returned to you."
