PostSubject: we tried daisy offlead....   Wed Jun 16, 2010 6:04 am

we took the dogs to elvaston castle again yesterday, weve let daisy off her lead a couple of times on the big field, but only when freds off lead so we know she will come back if fred does :2431: .... shes been brilliant...
so yesterday we decided to let her offlead all around the woods... we kept loads off treats on the ready so she would come back, she was absolutely amazing ... she stayed with us or very close by, she never ran up to dogs, or if she went too we would shout her to us and she would come for her treat, she never ran up to kids or adults, everyone stopped and remarked how lovely she was ... but they never talked for long becasue all you could hear was fred screeching and whining wanting fuss too ..

then we went further into the woods and spotted the squirrells, about 5 or 6 of them, we tried to get daisys attention before she saw them but it was too late :2431: .... she was like a little whippet and no amount of coaxing was getting her back, she came half way back but then turned on her heel and off she went... ive never seen the OH run so fast :san12: ... she was captured and leashed immediately for my OHs sanity :san12: ...
but all in all for saying shes still a baby she did very well better than the fredmeister, he charges up to people barking, so he stays on lead :2431:
were going back tomorrow so i will try and get some pics

WELL............ we went back yesterday and the place was packed loads of people eating picnics..... much to daisy's delight.. she just couldnt help herself running over to peoples dinners :2431: ... we had to leash her in the end as she just wasnt coming back, the food was too tempting, but she didnt chase any squirrels .... were off there again this morning.... i will remember my camera this time
