Dont leave your dog/s alone in parked cars, in gardens or tied up outside shops

Observe for anyone approaching your dog, be cautious but always be polite

Get your dog/s neutered! It makes dogs less attractive to dog thieves

Train your dog/s! Ensure it has 100% recall before allowing off lead

Have a photo album of your dog/s - head shots, front, side and rear profiles

Ensure that your dog/s are microchipped and/or tattooed in addition to a collar/tag

Find alternative walking areas and take different routes

Tell police, dog wardens and missing dog organisations if you see anyone behaving suspiciously
