It is shocking, poor little girl

So sad....

This is another tragic story. I have worked with a few dogue de bordeaux and they are very stubborn (well the ones I have worked with) They are a very powerful breed and need very firm limits and early socialisation. In my experience, they challenge corrections and you need to have nerves of steel when they charge at you! At one point, I was ready to sacrifice my right arm (I'm left handed) so I could run and jump a fence! I learned very quickly that they need touch corrections with no hesitations.
I am saddened at the child's injuries, this is tragic.
In situations like this, it's easy to point the finger of blame instead of learning lessons. It's a great pity (although we only know one side of the story) that the vet doesn't have contact with a rehabilitation centre that perhaps could have taken the dog there and then.
Stories like this raise all sorts of questions about statutory training for dogs etc?...........

the signs were there and no body listened, the dogs death and the little girls injuries could both have been easily avoided such a shame

aww poor little thing, its awful, i still wont allow ethan alone in the room with skye n tia even though there both big softies, i do trust them but you never no.xx

Such a sad thing, its happened not far from Chris's mums house.
I have read a few different stories about this and each fills me with anger that this happened. The dog was taken to the vet and asked to be PTS after it bit the owners brother days/weeks before this happened. Also why the hell was the dog allowed in the same room as the child! Its not rocket science, the dog was aggressive and previously bit someone yet they still let it around the child, it irraites me that the poor girls face and life is now scared when it could have been avoided.
