i have been thinking of ways to alert the public if your dog was approachable or not,
something they could see from a distance giving them/kids the option to stop and ask if it was ok to pet your dog also if they need to steer clear of too.
I was going to find out if there was a Market for such an item like a collar or Harness
that could be seen from a distance. QUESS WHAT?

someone has beat me to it

    This “friendly”
bright green dog collar is designed with safety in mind, to aid other
dog walkers and children that from a distance that they are approaching a
    good natured dog.

    We have conceived many questionnaires
and have spoken to many dog owners that all agree this is a great way to
walk your dog without causing stress to other dog owners, parents and
children whilst on your leisurely walk. We have sold many of these to
areas where we walk our dogs and we know how each others dogs behave.
Its great to know the nature of other dogs without having to ask the
owner or pull back your child if they are off the lead.

Collar is made of a very strong
polypropylene webbing with black lettering.3 "FRIENDLY” words on each
collar that can be seen 2 or 3 times whichever size collar is adjusted
to. Collar is near fluorescent, so can be seen from a good distance.
Collar has D ring for lead and side release buckle for ease of use.
    Machine washable.

    You are buying Medium/Large green
"friendly” collar adjusts to sizes, 14" to 24"/ 35cm to 60cm. Width 1
    ½”/ 38mm

TRAFFIC LIGHT SYSTEM TO BE USED AS A
    GUIDE ONLY

    CAUTION
RED - NOT TO BE APPROACHED

    NO DOGS
ORANGE - FRIENDLY TOWARDS ADULTS AND CHILDREN BUT NOT GOOD WITH OTHER
    DOGS

    FRIENDLY
GREEN - GOOD ALL ROUNDER. FRIENDLY TOWARDS ADULTS AND CHILDREN ALSO
    OTHER DOGS

    DISCLAIMER

IT IS THE OWNERS RESPONSIBILITY TO PUT
CORRECT TITLE OF COLLAR ON THE NATURE OF THEIR DOG.

This is used in a rescue in the USA, they put coloured collars on the dogs for everyone, working there and guests to have a better understanding of the dogs
