help please zeus went missing on sunday 31st jan, ive had no internet
till today, anyway i had a phone call from my old vet to say he had
been picked up but they wouldnt tell me where he was, i phoned mutts in
distress and they told me he was at foxdell in bishop stortford, i rang
them and they rang identichip to confrim he was mine on friday last
week, the woman told me that the dog warden had gone home and she would
ring him monday morning and i could collect him monday, she also told
me her rescue was closed sat and sun and it wasnt. she didnt ring me
monday i had to ring her and she said it was 167 to get him out but on
saturday he became legally theirs even though on friday i spoke to them
and she knew he was my dog. she saying i can fill in a homing
application and have a homecheck but im not applying to home my own
dog. i dont know what to do ive spoken to police and solicitor, east
herts council and im waiting for phone call off dog warden, my kids
were expecting him home on monday i just dont know what to do, i think
they have rehomed him hes not on there website and she told me he goes
home with one of the workers on an evening, HELP

i'm not sure how the system works tbh but surely if she has proof of ownership it has to be a done deal

What a sad situation,i hope she gets her dog back.

update since i left the dump, i rang east herts council AGAIN they dont
want to know they are saying speak to foxdell, my arguement with the
woman at the council was that authority is responsible for dogs that go
to foxdell she was having none of it, i then rang foxdell and asked the
manager what law gives her th...e
right to hold my dog has legally theres after 7 days when i was
confirmed as the owner before the days were up, i said to her if there
is such a law then she should have a copy of it if there isnt she is
breaking the law, all i got off her was cant talk now, ring back
tomoroow when i asked why zeus is going home with a man she said it was
for assessment reasons, i told her id been up there and i said its
didgusting that you want to check my home for my own dog when you work
in that enviroment there were like 10 ctas in a cage outside a big barn
which had the dogs in i could hear him barking

it must be so frustrating for the owner..... when it should be so simple

If it was my dog i would go there and refuse to leave until they gave the dog back

Surely its theft if she can prove the dog is hers and is microchipped

Why didnt they get in touch with her once they checked the chip info sounds like someone hasnt done their job right
Why the hell do people bother having chips put in their dogs if the dog wardens arent going to check them when they are picked up would of thought that would be the first thing they would check

I would tell the kennel that i was reporting them to the police for stealing my dog Cant believe they can get away with keeping the dog like that

Hope she gets her dog back soon

thats disgusting,she must be out of her mindxx

its quite scary really.... we think our dogs are going to be found and returned if theyre chipped....but in reality were no better protected than if they were left unchipped..... it must be a nightmare for the owners.....

so whats going to happen when the new owners take the dog to the vets and the chip is scanned....its going to be the real owners details .....

Sadly
there has been a discrepancy regarding what Laura has told us and what
the rescue is saying happened and for some reason Laura is no-longer in
the group. I have invited her back & have messaged her to see
what's going on.
