PostSubject: fred is in my bad books   Wed Feb 03, 2010 7:06 pm

we had to cut our walk short today after only 5 minutes

all that time he did nothing but whine and whinge VERY loudly and when i corrected him he growled...so we turned him back round and we went home....

instead we did some training.... by the time i had finished with him, i had him in a down stay by the side of some cats and when he saw a dog walking down the road he didnt even have the energy or the nerve to make his usual fuss :2431: ...

when we got back inside the house he was made to sit by the OPEN back door while the OH was outside pottering about, for 2 minutes...and for fred this was a very hard task ... he didnt even dare whine like he normally does ....

earlier he was made to sit in the living room while the OH prepared chicken...hes normally by his feet getting scraps.... not tonight....

and this evening he hasnt put a foot wrong.. tomorrow he will get more training and he can stay at home while we go to the kennels to walk the dogs

hes going to re-learn his manners and work for every privilage :2431:

i know its only a small blip because the OH has been home for 2 weeks... so the OH has been spoken too as well... hes got to stop getting fred excited all the time, and try to make him obey him and listen to him more instead of just playing with him!!

as long as im like this with fred i know he will behave too sange... if i lapse slightly he will take full advantage... i just need the OH to keep up with it, thats the main problem

no your not being too harsh on him Shelley he's a teenager too so can act really silly at times, you need to keep nipping it in the bud like you are doing

I agree with Sue, good job hun and I know what you mean, if I lapse with Misty she is the same

Nothing in life is Free they have to earn everything Karen to make them respect you, she wants a walk, well do as I say, sit, down etc, she wants food, sit, beg, lay etc, wants to come on the sofa, not till you do as I say, she needs it Karen, the others never try it on but Misty will try it on so I have to keep reminding her who is boss

i have decided that gemma is going to live at sandras and rea can go to fredsmum then all my dogs will be obedient , honestly gemma is a nightmare no manners don't listen to me and pisses off whenever she gets the change, never ever had a dog like her , i think i must have dropped her on her head at some stage don't get me wrong she's great with people and other dogs but she just BOUNCE BOUNCE BOUNCE all the bloody time and DRIVES ME UP THE WALL

i only have 4 and 2 half ones [ twist and rea ] all of them have been so interested in me they were so easy to train, rea is quite good really she will sit, down, flat, recall and pick her dumbell up and bring it to me , but she always attacks the big girls and the old boy twist shakes when she's doing her rounds, gemma needs mic martin to sort her out, wonder if he will work nights
