Well i took Mickey to the vets first thing this morning and the vet thinks he may have damaged his cruciate ligament

Hes booked in tomorrow morning for a general anesthetic and they will assess him while hes under and xray him
He was growling at the vet and it was impossible to exam him properly without him being knocked out

If they find damage they are gonna ring me while hes still under ga and will perform the operation to repair it
Im gutted because i still dont know what he did to cause it only thing im thinking is he must have slipped and done it while running round in the garden yesterday morning in the snow I wasnt watching him while he was out but it was when he came in i noticed him standing on three legs holding his back leg up
I was on here joking about how clumsy he is god i feel awful now knowing i was joking about him like that i didnt think he had done anything too bad

now and will be a nervous wreck tomorrow
i feel just thinking about it

Bren, I hope that the vet can get to the bottom of this . You cant blame yourself but I know you will still feel so bad & still worry.

aww hun, dont worry too much, he will be fine .... i was only telling my OH about him being clumsy and chasing the cat, earlier today, then you text to say about his cruciate ligament ... bless him

my friends DDB damaged her cruciate ligament.... she had an op then had to have hydrotherapy, and so long as shes not walked for too long, shes absolutely fine now

Im still hoping its not the cruciate if it is god knows how i will manage to keep him from running around for a few months

Hes been trying to chase the cat and Keira today like nothings wrong ive had to physically hold him back so he doesnt do any more damage and he hasnt had a walk today either which didnt impress him

Thanks Jan thats what im hoping He has been putting weight on it today but he did get a pain killing injection this morning so that may be the reason

I will be so nervous waiting for that call my stomach is churning now just thinking about it

I know my vets are really good just been on their website www.straitonvets.co.uk/ they have all the right facilities and very experienced vets
