[i mentioned to some of you about the show side of tropical fish keeping (which is the largest show scene apart from dogs in uk) All you fish keepers would have seen swordtails for sale in shops but the photo shows show standard. Fish are judged out of 100 points split into following .
Single fish, size 20points, body 20points, fins 20points, colour 20points,condition and deportment 20 points, there is also classes for peirs , breeders teams, furnished aquaria and plants put the point scoring changes slightly from the single fish

Someone I used to work with showed their fish, they were very proud of it, like we are with our dogs, it's like anything, you get into, horses or dogs or fish, it's about the work you put into breeding the winner

I like my fish but couldn't tell a good one from a bad one

I started showing when i was 14 i still remember my dad saying at our first show dont expect to win anything as these people have been showing for years , i had 2 1st and a 2nd and only entered 3 fish and it just grew from there from 1 tank to 14 over the years i may have some old photos around of the show tanks i had if so i'll post, but still trying to talk the wife round to starting again as need large show tank for dinning room 4 or 5 foot would be nice, she wants to redo the dinning room so i can get a tank to match her colour scheme
