Please, please, please (probably telling granny how to suck eggs, but.) ............ ..
Don't let your dogs go on frozen lakes, ponds, canals. Too many have
died already this winter by falling through the ice. They either go
under the ice and can't get out, or die of hyperthermia.
Humans have fallen through as well this winter, but it's their own fault, they should know better
Beware of your dogs getting frostbite in their toes. There have already
been several cases.
If you have the benefit of a swimming pool at home and it hasn't been
emptied and is frozen over. DON'T allow dogs or cats go on the ice.
Cover the pool with an appropriate cover or empty the pool.
If you dog is getting clumps of ice all over it's feet, legs, body, take
them off and keep your dog warm (not TOO warm!!!)
