| As some of you may remember my mum lost one of her rough collies to cancer back in October. he had led a wonderful life with his brother Casper. Casper has missed him ever since and not wanted to play, the light had gone out of his eyes..... My mum is 79, and I did not want her to get a puppy so I began the long search to find her a rough collie or shetland sheepdog. I found one in Southhampton just before christmas but the weather prevented me from going down for him and he was snatched up locally. On Wednesday a friend of a friend (a breeder) offered me an 18 month old shetland sheepdog. he was in Coventry, but another friend (local to me) was judging a dog show down there today and offered to bring the dog up to St. Helens for me. they arrived back at 4pm and rang me, I told my mum (who is staying with me at the moment) I had to nip out to pick a dog up and then take it to its forever home. ''I hope its not to far away'' she said, ''its begining to snow and the roads are bad'' I assured her the new home was local. I went and Picked Archie up and brought him home in a carry/show case, I carried him into the house and my mum said, ''whats wrong? did the new owners not want the dog? I thought he was going straight to his new home'' he's already arrived there, I replied and I opened the case and handed Archie to her. If I could bottle her emotions at that moment I would be very rich.... love at first sight,  Archie is beautiful and a sweet natured honey. All my lot have been great with him, My Mum will be going home tomorrow, she arrived with one dog and will leave with two. Casper loves him!!! this has been a good day  piccies to follow |
