One of my girls did this and we tried teaching on and off but it didn't stop the behaviour so i read an article that said when they jump up grab their front legs and hold them up on their two legs until they protest and then count to three and let them go. We did this and hey presto it worked. She does still do it now and again but compared to her initial behaviour it is nothing. Me and my kids were being knocked over by her now she waits...

Iv just used the same technique on our racing greyhound/whippet and he is responding too. It may not work with every dog but its something else to try...

Mine have never really jumped up :nhy: They will halfheartedly attempt it if they get very excited in play or training but only when they are "testing the barriers" which isnt often and its soon stopped with a loud "OI"

Thanks for the tip Suze Im definately gonna try this one Keira is a real pain she is so exciteable and always jumps up anyone who comes into the house We have tried alsorts to try and calm her but nothing has worked She is now teaching bad habits to Mickey He has started getting all excited aswell but is nowhere near as bad as Keira We have tried the no fuss until your quiet routine but it takes about 15 minutes to actually get her to calm down She is an extremely hyper dog who is over friendly and loves everyone

The only one of mine that jumps up is Misty again, Misty But she sort of uses you as a spring board will try your tip Suze maybe hard to try and get her front legs though, as she hits you and is gone again, then comes back over and over
