Does your dog bark at every leaf that falls or approaching dogs/people have you been able to stop the behaviour? if so how did you do it?

a sharp pull on the leash to the side and a harsh no usually works if hes onlead... if hes barking in the garden i tell him no and he usually listens and then when i go back in he will bark again :2431: _________________ ~The dog is a gentleman! I hope to go to his heaven, not man's~

Did the correction on leash work from the beginning or was it a drawn out affair that he eventually got the message

Hmm Barking, where do i start.Summer can bark for Scotland just ask Lynne and Suze.I think a lot of it is excitement and she always has to be in control of the boys,i tried different things to shut her up. I've tried shouting,i've tried ignoring,i even used to spray her with water and that did work for a while but she eventually got used to it and just ran off barking. Its not all her fault though because as she is the first bitch i have ever owned she is a spoiled brat who takes the piss out of everybody. The latest thing i'm trying is a plastic bottle with a few stones in it,she hates the sound if i shake it so if she is mouthy i only have to pick the bottle up and she stops. As i say its working for now so watch this space. _________________

Mimi used to bark at everything in the garden and nothing would stop her but then she outgrew it. Maggie started the same thing a few months ago and we assumed she would outgrow it but I dont think she will. Shes a nightmare for it!! Telling her NO and making her come in the house stops it at the time but it doesnt stop her doing it the next time :nhy: Stan cant bark He whispers his barks cos hes a nob :2431:

| i have a pack of jack russells living in the garden at the back of me.... i could quite easily shoot them all.... they bark at my every move... i dont mind dogs barking, but not like they do.... constant yappy barking all the time they are in the garden... i had words with the owner and she does now stop them if they bark too much... ... yet there are large dogs that bark all aorund, and they dont grate on my nerves as much as yappy little dogs do.... :2431: _________________ ~The dog is a gentleman! | Molly barks in the house if anyone comes to the door, walks past or if diesel vans are in the close. Our neighbour has complained about her but think we have now solved the problem . |
