PostSubject: Would you kill a dog to save it? (hypothetical question)   Fri Nov 13, 2009 8:07 pm

The following senario is entirely hypothetical.

You become aware of a person trying to
rehome their dog. The owner is offering the dog, for free, to anyone
and everyone and, lately, has taken to waiting outside public houses at
closing time and offering the dog to leaving customers.

The dog is a bull breed. It is dog aggressive. It is known to have
bitten the owner and a visitor. The owner, who is intellectually
sub-normal, is promoting the dog as a 'good fighter'.

You cannot take this dog into your home. You cannot find a rescue
space. Amateur dog fighting gangs are known to operate in the area.

Would you take this dog to euthanise it?

i would try to find a rescue for its breed to see if they could rehabilitate or take care of it.. taking it to be pts would be the last and very last option!!!!

This is a hard one I couldnt personally make a judgement call like this but i would do the same as everyone else and try to get a rescue to take it on
They would then be able to either rehome the dog or if it did prove to be too dangerous to make that decision Either way it would be better off rather than being given to some yob who might fight it

so the question is would you take it home with you while you were waiting for a rescue space or walk away and leave it to the fate of dog fighting
personally i think i would have to walk away even though it would haunt me forever i could'nt risk anything happening to my dogs
