    PostSubject: Hip xray's   Sun Oct 25, 2009 9:52 pm

Both pups are due to be done november. 1 year old 30th this month.

has anyone with bitches scored done this close to or just after a season ? and how was the result.
I have been told not to get them done 1 month either side of season .
The reason for this is that as a bitch approaches season her joints loosen off and if xrayed around this time can make hips look worse on xray than they actually are
    anyone else heard of this.
    makes sense i suppose

the reason he will not comment is

if he said they looked not to good u may not send them for scoring( average never changes}some breeders do this
if he say they were fine then score comes back higher he gets the stick'

when xrays come back he will not open ,he will discuss with you once you open and will put xrays up for you and point out why he thinks they were scored the way they were.

We had Yippi's hips done in Season, We took the vets advice he said it made no difference whatever.. Hips came back total 7 4/3.
If you are worried and there is no hurry wait till seasons over.
