PostSubject: challenging walk   Sun Oct 25, 2009 1:10 pm

todays walk was a challenging one .... we dont normally take fred out around here at the weekends, or i certainly dont on my own lol.... but this weekend ive had no choice as the OH is away ....

it started off okay.... two little kids wanted to pet fred....the boy was terrified when he got closer, but the girl was lovely, fred was a good lad and the boy soon came round and petted him,and fred repayed him with a big sloppy kiss :2431:

i normally go the long safe way round to the racecourse but today i thought i would bite the bullet and go the dodgy route lol.... and it didnt fail me :nhy: .... we have to walk past a low fenced communal garden area, where there is always dogs running about .... the little white one was out with its owner and fred hardly bothered, he was curious but i kept his head forward and kept going.... result = no barking fred ... then as we rounded the corner there was a stray greyhound...my first reaction was ''oh shit here we go!'' but i stood still gathered myself, and kept fred moving forward and corrected him when he tried to look round.....result = no barking fred and one greyhound trotting off in the other direction....

i was really chuffed with myself .....we had a lovely time on the racecourse, fred was a good lad and we had a great walk home ... the long way round lol :2431:

Great news well done, it's hard to contain yourself when you are expecting trouble how did you do it? by concentrating on keeping him moving or thinling of something else like CM says
