Also you can't beat that unconditional love - makes you feel great when you're feeling a bit down

Same as you Karen Ed bought Marley for me when I was going through a deep depression and was given anti depressants by my gp, I didnt want to take them I knew what was wrong with me Ed's shift work leaves mea lot of time on my own and I was very lonely, I have never looked back since getting Marley and now Kala. There is nothng that can match that unconditional love or the greeting that I get when I come home from work. I just wish I didnt have to work so I could spend all my time with them!

Unconditional love dont mind if i look like shit!! they are always happy to see me and i love them to bits, to be honest if it wasnt for them prob wouldnt go out that much to parks etc and wouldnt have met some wonder people from dog training and breeders ie sue and john and lainee of course , so yeah great fun.

    could go on and on......

PostSubject: Re: Tell us one way having a dog has improved your life   Tue Oct 13, 2009 2:44 pm

i honestly dont think i would be here today if my mum and dad hadnt bought paddy for me. i was very ill since i was seven, no one belived me, they said you cant be ill everyday its not normal. my mum knew i wasnt telling lies but it didnt matter. my doctor told me i was mad, my own family didnt belive me. i ended up being too scared to leave my house, i had never slept a full night from the age of seven, as i was in so much pain and ill. i wouldnt have cared if i had died there and then to be honest i have never felt so alone in my life. then our family dog passed away and i belived things couldnt get worse.

my mum knew she had to do something, as i was slipping away so to speak she found out about paddy and said lets go see the litter i refused i didnt want another dog i thought that was cruel i loved mikey and he couldnt be replaced. but my mum said your not replacing mickey just the emptyness you feel in your heart . then she pleaded with me and said she felt as tho she was losing me and to do it for her, so i did. when i saw Paddy it was love at first sight i didnt care about his litter mates, the night i brought him home i slept for the first time in 7/8 years.

paddy is very sensative towards me he would know what to do when i was ill and to help me stop having a panic attack, he would lay quietly next to me and have me stroke him. he got me out and about again, he looked after me but gave me independence too. he gave me back my life, he brought light back into my heart and i will never be able to pay him back for what he has done.he doesnt judge me,if i cried he would wipe away my tears and get upset with me and i never wanted him to be upset lol so i learned to cope with things better. we have a bond that i will never have with another dog ever, we know each other inside out.

i remeber having to go into hospital for the day to have tests done ect, i was shitting them lol but my mum said dont react untill your out the door you will upset paddy so i did as i was told. paddy was happy happy wen i left. wen i got to the hospital i was in tears had themost horrific day of my life lol got home and the next day mitra told me, paddy was stressing all day wouldnt leave the front door was crying, wouldnt eat his food, drink or go to the loo! he waited from 8am till about 8pm wen i got home then i remember he jumped on the sofa next to me and fell asleep with me lol

he saved my life that day i met him, with out him i wouldnt be here today, he hasnt improved my life, he gave me my life back. i love all my dogs, and find i relate to them better then ppl lol
