| back to me you little ba****d i could have killed him today out on our walk.... he was off lead on the racecourse as he is every day, he doesnt bother with nothing around him so long as they arent within breathing distance, and he has his ball to occupy his brain .... that is until today when he spotted 2 joggers over the other side of the field next to the path that runs along side the main road... joggers arent nothing unusual, we see them most days, but today fred decided to take off after them, he wouldnt come back to me, no matter how much i shouted him, the poor joggers shit them selves, they both ran towards the main road, one climbed up a tree, and the other gave up by the road and stopped.... by this time i was having a heart attack, as soon as fred got up to them, he looked at them and ran back.... i tried to regain composure, grabbed his ball, and then leashed him the minute i got him.... i immediately flagged the lads down,as they had by now carried on jogging, i wanted to apologise and for them to see fred wasnt nasty.... they accepted my apology and fussed fred, then saw the funny side of it, and started laughing about the one who scrambled up a tree.... i didnt find it funny though :nhy: i couldnt apologise enough.... the only thing i could think why he would do this, is he spot where he saw the two lads, is where my OH waits for us if he comes to join us, and the racecourse is where my OH takes him jogging, so with the two combined, i wondered if he thought it was his dad.... we carried on with our walk, and when we came back to the racecourse on our way home, i made him do some obedience before i let him off lead... and i didnt let him off for as long as i normall would, i made him work for everything.... is there anything else i could have done  hes also been off his food today, hes not eaten any of it.... im not sure if this is anything important, but thought i would mention it ..... _________________ ~The dog is a gentleman! | I totally agree about your OH Gazi used to meet me after work in a certain place and Bryn (and others) would run to him But I had to stop Gazi meeting us, coz if anyone had blue on Bryn would run to them (that's the colour Gaz wears in work) and just like you the lad shit himself and I had to say sorry etc It's never happened since, which was about 18 mths ago |

| Thankfully, it would only be my OH he would ever mix up, and to tell you the truth, until you mentioned it now I had forgotten all about it But obviously if there is any concern that Fred may do it again to a child especially then you have to be careful |

| definately sange.... hes never chased after joggers before :nhy:, theyre on the racecourse most days.... i think it was because they happened to be running past the very spot my OH would wait for us to go over to him..... and it was only friday the OH last met us there, and he shouted fred over from a distance and fred went running to him.... but now imagining all scenarios lol... he prob wont do it again.... but i want him to be reminded of his recall, so hes going back to basics on the field ... _________________ ~The dog is a gentleman! | But sometimes, not meaning to, we create these probs for ourselves, thinking it's nice for our partners to meet us and the dog to run to them, not realising how easy it is for the dogs to get confused |
