yesterday the OH came home early,so after my walk with zaggy we decided to take fred somewhere different, we were supposed t be trying a local walk we had been told about, but there was cows nearby, so that was a no no :nhy: ....
we then got the sat nav out, found somewhere on that, and headed off...when we got there , there was no where to park... so we drove about and found cromford canal.... it was beautiful... fred really enjoyed it.... we leashed him every time a dog came past as the path was narrow....
tia and the OH were standing watching a pike in the water... when all of a suden there was a mighty splash.... fred had fallen over the side of the canal :san42: :san42: :san42: he was panicking and whining.... he had his lead on, good job it was his extender lead or i would have been in wiht him :2431: .... i managed to haul him out, only to turn round to a group of people and my OH laughing

...one bloke said i didnt imagine to see a great big german shepherd to be hauled out out of the canal....oh the shame :2445: :2445: :2445: .... he only likes to paddle in the shallow bits.... itd a disused canal, so some bits are deeper than the others :2431:
other than that we really enjoyed it, we stopped for a bite to eat at the cafe there.... and bought a book of local walks to do with children, all are no longer than 5 miles, but it will be just right for tia and the dog....
ive got video footage of him falling in the lake at elvaston castle a few weeks ago, i must post it :2445: :2445: :2445: hes such a wuss
