PostSubject: dogs do know   Wed Aug 26, 2009 1:09 pm

i took fred for an extra long walk today and we ended up at the racecourse.... it was completely empty so we had the full run of it.... not that he left my bloomin side much :2431:... we walked from one end to the other a couple of times before we started to head back to go home.... on the way there was a man coming across the field he looked quite scruffy and dishevelled and i was thankful i wasnt on my own.... i waited until he wasnt too close before i threw freds ball, last thing some people want is a large gsd thundering past them lol.... fred went and got his ball.... but on the way back...he stopped, his hackles and tail went up and he stalked closer towards the man.... i shouted him back before he went for him... he came back but stopped twice and looked at the man as he walked slowly back to me... so i leashed him just incase ...

i have no ides why fred was like this.... we go to all sorts of places and fred doesnt bother with people, he can happily trot right past them...

i wonder if the man WAS dogdy and fred sensed this ... i certainly felt safe anyway
