Happy Anniversary to the Dangerous Dogs Act! We've had eighteen years of slaughtering innocent dogs, their injustice cries out from their unmarked graves.
Eighteen long years of killing puppies, oldies, rescue dogs, pet dogs who all measured up and were held down whilst their lives were drained away.
Eighteen years of owners begging in court for their dogs life to to be spared, on their knees, begging and in tears.
Eighteen years of dogs seized on grasping poles cut into their necks as they are dragged from their family bed whilst owners are pinned down and children scream for their pets on a dawn raid.
Eighteen years of pets who walk the street at night, unable to join in and have much of a life and never able to visit a vet from fear of seizure.
Eighteen years of persecuted dogs who have died suddenly in a kennels from illness or injury on death row.
Eighteen years of dogs suffering from the crushing boredom of a concrete cell or suffering appalling physically whilst waiting to die held in isolation from their families.
Eighteen years of dogs who should be safe in a sanctuary-being 'picked out' due to appearance and killed under the law whilst their carers look on and fight back the tears as they are unable to save them.
Eighteen years of long drawn out, expensive court hearings where the length of leg, head shape and angle of bone determines whether a dog is dangerous.
Eighteen years of being Guilty until proven Innocent.
Eighteen years of media hype and bullshit dished out weekly where dogs get blamed and killed for people's mistakes.
Eighteen years of myth and lies surrounding the American Pit Bull Terrier, still being delivered to those stupid enough to lap it up as they know nothing about dogs and are being fed the 'devil dog' propaganda which helps keep the flawed law where it is.
Today marks the day when the canine genocide, still with us and in full force, began.
Please take a look at the video and please, please, if you haven’t already done so, write to your own Member of Parliament - the fight is in Westminster as that is where we can repeal BSL if enough people stand up against it.
