    PostSubject: i have a new tank   Sun Aug 09, 2009 7:42 pm

so....... we went out and bought a new aquarium and have decided to start from scratch.... the tank has been set up since saturday... its a 230l tank all planted up and ready to go.... were not going to put any fish in it until next week and had the water tested first... were going tropical again.... clarence the clam is already in there and feeling quite at home lol..

the filter is an interpet 350 external filter.... very powerful.... im just hoping weve got it set up properly lol.... i think it is as the water is now nice and clear....and its not making a funny noise *touches wood* lol

we bought a sack of large ocean rock for £30 and we got 10 plants for £12 together with a crashed plane ornament it all looks very nice

we found a brill aquatic and pet centre in swadlincote about 20mins away from us.... they know exactly what theyre doing and are very friendly people...who thankfully dont mind me asking lots of questions lol....

will post piccies soon.... sange has had a sneak preview via text :2431: ....

fingers crossed that it all goes smoothly lol....

p.s hows your new tank doing jan?..

ooooooooooh right... ive never had an external filter before.... its all quite complicated lol....

the filter was making a noise and according to the instructions it said to take something out and top up with water... when we took it out water pissed everywhere :2445: ... it did the trick though ....

im gonna have to do some reading on this filter me thinks lol ....

are the built in filters easy to maintain?..

It's a beautiful tank a little similar to yours Jan, sort of, posh and lovely.

Will cross fingers for you that it all works out well Shell, pity Kenny wasn't here to read this :2445: he would have a comment or two

I bought some more plants yesterday and another apple snail, they gave me a bloody dead one, £2.50 for a dead snail no point in taking it back it will cost me about a fiver in petrol, but I will be telling them
