| after jude mentioned about the thunder storm and marley being scared. it reminded me wat Merseyside police told me they did with thier pups.
they got one of them noise CDs and played it to them once their ears where open to get them used to all types of noises. i also bought one and have used it with all mine, none are scared of fire work, storms, bangs ect. now this could be for several reasons, them being working dogs so i dont baby them if they show any form of fear, i get them used to bangs ect, genetics, ect ect.
have any of you guys done anything similar toward training your dogs |

in all seriousness tho some of the things we do with our workers as pups to get them sooo used to things is mad to some but works i guess.
i will have umbrellas, bottles with pebbles in, carrier bags the list is endless and throw them round the dog wen they are on the rag and also get them to rag on them.
get a pan and bang at it all sorts really but my dogs flinch at nothing also i think genetics has a lot to do with it as my Eng bred girl was a wufftie woo where as all my workers are strong minded and hard temperment so think it helps in some ways lol |

| I have said it before and will say it again, Jason is wasted on us. He should have been a working dog for sure. He has zero fear of noises, fireworks, high speed trains going by, farmers bangers (used to scare the pigeons from the corn fields in spring) which are as loud as a shot gun, thunder storms etc he actually runs towards the noise in question!! |

| Oh I know, your dead right..I could not bare to part with him and so glad he is my baby and part of our lives. He enjoys his training and 'needs' to be busy....otherwise he gives himself a job! We have had security blokes asking to take him off us...I told them thanks but naaaa thanks :2431: in a polite way of course! Sorry, i have gone off topic, sort of, whoops! |

| Mine are all different with noise, have played the CD and they take no notice of it, as if it doesn't give off the same atmosphere as thunder and firworks  Bryn is Ok with those types of noise, but then something silly scares him  Hazel never used to be scared of fireworks and thunder but the last couple of years she has started being worried and is Ok so long as she can duck under the coffee table. Misty just bloody barks through it, like she barks at everything |
