ive been meaning to post about this for a while now... but i keep forgetting .... only now its getiting to be very annoying.... i am in the process of trying to stop it.... just need to know if an other dogs do it, and if im doing the right thing

fred has a habit of jumping up every time someone moves to another room or just to get somehting from the same room... when he was younger it was cute....as he would get up and lumber after you quite slowly.... but now he jumps up really quick and its as if hes racing you, he quite often knocks tia over...

so ive started telling him to sit and stay if he starts to get up, and if i dont catch him in time i take him back and make him stay .. when he trys to follow me up the stairs i tell him to get down, or if hes not made it on the stairs i tell him to wait at the bottom and stay!!... we already make him sit and wait until we let him out into the garden.... and i make him let me trough doors first...

its slowly working.... the only thing is my OH hasnt been home for a couple of weeks so im worried its going to go back to square one when he comes home, as i know if im not around he will not tell fred to sit and stay... hes bloody useless at remembering training... :2431:

All of mine do it, and if I pull the connecter out of the laptop to get up, they all jump from sleeping as well, expecting me to move.

It is annoying, especially as the trample all over Gazi (usually treating on his nuts and feet) :2431: to follow me, they never follow him :nhy:


What I do is similar to you, I say 'back' and they all have to wait for me

fred follows anyone who gets up lol...

youre right it is bloody annoying.... more so when you have a bloomin great pack of them doing it lmao :2431: ...

Now he says, 'bloody tell me when your moving, so I can protect myself' :san22:

I stop it now I warn him and I make them all go back and calm down

Ours dont go upstairs so if i go up they sit at the bottom of the stairs waiting

They are like my bodyguards

They even sit in the kitchen when im cooking which is a pain because they get in the way :2445: I use them as an excuse if i burn stuff

i think its finally sinking in today :2431: ..... sometimes hes gone to get up to follow, then thought twice and sat back down lol..... fingers crossed

although earlier i was lay on the settee and he could have laid anywhere in the room ......... but he chose to lay on top of me :2445: ..... and right now he is in his usual place.... right beside me on the settee lying on my legs.. which are now starting to tingle lol...

its quite cute that he wants to follow me around, if he wasnt so bloomin clumsy and fast it wouldnt be so bad, its just annoying now :2431:

all mine follow only me , xena and axle will follow oh if she has a treat otherwise they ignore her :thinking:
