| these bloomin fish are doing my head in..........if its not one thing its another... :banghead:
my lovely golden fantail has now got finrot...or thats what i think hes got... his fins have gone white and are starting to disapear as if theyre rotting away... so hes in a little tank in the kithcen being treated.... ive also treated the aquarium..so fingers crossed this works... i dont know why i keep having all these dramas....
im thinking of taking a couple of buckets of water out plus the fish, and cleaning the whole thing out, including the stones, i have a sneaky suspicon the stones could be harbouring lots of nasty bacteria thats doing the fish no good... _________________ ~The dog is a gentleman! | hi u 2 have any off u put in shells/coral based ornaments or any type gravel not suitable for fresh water fish. once the tank is running u should not get problems as its a balanced system Shelley u have got me confused as i cant under stand why they keep dying if the water checks u were doing said everything is ok u should not have a problem unless u have introduced a fish that was diseased and u didnt know |

| this is what i can understand either kenny.... i waited for ages before i introduced new fish... then when i did they died the next day, then two days later two of my mollys died... so i got rid of the remaining tropical and went coldwater.... introduced two goldfish.... then my large gold fantail is poorly... the other fantail... touch wood... is fine, and so are the new fish.... but ive treated the water just in case....
do you think it will be worth while cleaning all the stones out... but at the same time keeping the majority of the water to put back in  _________________ ~The dog is a gentleman! I hope to go to his heaven, not man's~ |

| as they are now cold water u should be able to renew all without problem providing u treat new water for chloride. one other thing do any off u feed the small bags of live food such as dahpnie etc as sometimes these contain other things that feed on fish |

| i dont feed live food.... i feed flakes.... ive added a new plastic plant.. but no coral or shells.. oooh i feel better now knowing i can clean all the stones... i'll save just the water out of the bucket i will keep them in and put that back in with them.... im almost positive the stones are harbouring something nasty .... it could do with a thorough clean out... the stones have never been done, theyve been cleaned in the tank, but when you disturb them, big clouds of muck appear... _________________ ~The dog is a gentleman!
