| Stun gun used after dog wounded
A man has been shot by a police stun gun after he wounded a dog at a house in east Belfast.
The 47-year-old entered the property in Mersey Street armed with a knife at about 1310 BST on Saturday and stabbed the animal before making off.
The man then entered a public house on the Newtownards Road a short time later.
Officers at the pub used the Taser to disable the man, who was then arrested.
"A warning was given and ignored, at which point the weapon was deployed ," said a police spokesman.
"The Police Ombudsman has been informed in line with agreed PSNI protocols."
