Well, when Mimi was at the vets a month ago, she weighed 32.8 kilos and was told her ideal was 31 but her card says her ideal is 30 kilos (written by the same vet at the same time  ) She did have a slight porkiness about her then too but the vet forgave that due to the winter.

Anyway, shes been weighed again and is 32.2 kilos so shes lost about 600 grams which is nothing. The problem is, she looks half starved at the minute. From the top, she looks sooooo long and thin. From the front, her head looks too big for her body and her chest is so narrow.

You can only just feel her ribs though. Shes been moulting loads too so her fur is alot thinner than it was a few weeks ago.

I cant decide if she looks thinner just because Stan and Maggie are alot stockier or shes grown again without putting the weight on, cos she hasnt really lost the weight but is thinner.

I'll get a pic later but I dunno if it will show on a photo.

I think I'm worrying over nothing, prob a combination of her growing (shes 16 months) and seeing Maggie who is about 3 times as wide as Mimi is.

I think GSDs are meant to be thin as long as her ribs dont show I was shocked when told Keira needed to lose weight She looks normal to me but they should have a small waist with all there weight at the front end Mimi probably looks skinny compared to the other two but dont forget they are meant to look chunkyer than shepherds :san53:

Cheers ladies. I think the other two do have alot to do with it, Maggie is getting really wide now, makes Mimi look all frail and dainty lol

I'm uploading pics now but she looks better in them than she really is.

I agree, there is prob nothing to worry about, when Misty started developing I kept thinking 'god Hazel is thin and needs to put weight on' but similar to your situation, Aussie's are muscular and wider and strong dogs than BC's but now I don't notice it
