    Poor Archie
Poor Archie's story highlights the problems that older dogs face when they end up in rescue. Nobody wants them and yet an older dog can be so rewarding.
Archie - Nobody wanted this poor dog!

Staff at the RSPCA in York had become very attached to poor Archie but unfortunately nobody came forward to offer him a home because he was old. Sadly, Archie was found dead in his kennel. The last few months of his life with York RSPCA were probably the happiest of his life.

    HOW COULD YOU?

Archie was a black GSD who was carried into York RSPCA completely collapsed in August - a skeleton with cuts to his legs, unable to stand. After six months he was completely transformed. Very few people want elderly dogs so Archie spent months alone in kennels instead of enjoying life in the real world. Archie was most friendly GSD you could ever meet. He loved everybody he met and lived in the puppy unit helping to be Dad to the pups. He obviously never had a life, yet he was friendly with dogs. He had no aggression to anything or anyone, was just so excited at everything he saw.
Please consider giving an older dog a new home

I know a couple looking to rehome an older bitch, around 10 years. A meduim sized girl, e.g. collie/spaniel size. If anyone spots a dog like this needing a home let me please let me know. This couple are missing a dog in their life!

She's doing great. Her and Sabre love each other! Picked up a 3rd though last night, and not doing so well! He just DOESN'T do other dogs fullstop! Looking at moving him somewhere more suitable today because it's a nightmare here trying to keep them apart!
