PostSubject: Rabbit killed in hutch break-in   Thu Mar 19, 2009 8:59 pm

Two rabbits were stolen from a school in Berkshire with one found cut in half with its ears removed.
The pets were kept in a hutch, which was broken into, on the
grounds of Little K's After School Club based at Thatcham Park Upper
    School.
One of the animals was found mutilated in a "horrific crime" but the second is still missing, police said.
The rabbits were taken sometime between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. Police have appealed for information.
Sgt Caroline Harrison, of Thames Valley Police, said: "This is a horrific crime which has been very upsetting for the children.
"There is a six-foot fence which the offenders would have had to
climb over to get to the rabbits, and the premises were believed to be
    secure.
"Nothing else was stolen or damaged during the incident so it seems the only motive was to hurt the rabbits."
