    [size=12]What is the Canny Collar?

    The
Canny Collar is a revolutionary dog training collar proven to stop
pulling on the lead and help with dog walking in a kind, safe and
effective way. It is a simple piece of dog training equipment made up
of a conventional flat collar with a traditional buckle fastening for
security. The lead attaches to a thinner slip line, made from soft yet
strong material, which then fits over the nose of your dog.

    Unlike
other dog walking devices which fasten under the chin, the lead fastens
behind your dog's head on the Canny Collar. This represents an
innovative and unique design in dog behaviour training on lead.

    Click
here to see our video 'Fitting and Using the Canny Collar' for a visual demonstration of how simple it is to use.

    Fitting
    Instruction

    Picture

    1) Fasten the Canny Collar around your dogs neck,
ensuring the buckle is positioned just behind the ears at
the back. Fold any excess collar and tuck it under the
buckle. The Canny Collar should fit higher up than a
    conventional collar, as shown.

    2) A snug fit is essential with dog training
collars to ensure they cannot come off your dog whilst walking. Test
the Canny Collar by trying to pull it off your dog's head - if
fitted correctly, this should not be possible.

    3) Pull each end of the thin slip line behind your dog's head and
attach your lead to both 'D' rings at each end.

    4) Pull the slip line through the small black or yellow plastic
guider at the front of the Canny Collar and place over your dog's
snout. With some breeds, it may be easier to do this before
attaching the lead. Take care not to twist the slip line before
placing it over your dog's snout.

    5) Ensure you leave the plastic guider under your dog's chin.
This is vital. If the plastic guider is not kept under the chin, the
Canny Collar will not function correctly.

    6) Now you're ready to begin walking your dog.

    7) When walking your dog, your lead should be kept short but
loose so you can control your dog quickly and easily. An extendable
lead, or similar dog training equipment, is not recommended for use
with the Canny Collar as the slip line may not remain in place.

    8) When your dog starts pulling on the lead, apply gentle
backward pressure by tightening the lead. Instant release of the
pressure occurs when he stops pulling. This pressure and release
system is the key to using your Canny Collar correctly as your dog
trains himself to stop pulling. Within a short time, dog walking
will become a pleasure again as your dog begins to walk happily by
your side on a loose lead.

    9) Some dogs may resist the first time you put the slip line over
their face and try to paw it off. You must continue to walk and lift
your dog's head by raising your lead. The Canny Collar can be used
in conjunction with common positive reinforcement dog training
methods such as clicker training or food based reward training to
help very difficult dogs accept it more quickly.

    10) Instantly release the pressure on the Canny Collar by
lowering your lead when he stops resisting. Once the initial
resistance has stopped, release all pressure. Keep walking while
giving him vocal praise, then stop and praise him lavishly.

    11) When letting your dog off lead, the Canny Collar can be left
on him by removing the slip line from his snout and pulling it out
fully. Cross the slip line behind his head and drop it either side
    of his head.

    12) Bring the D rings together to meet underneath his chin and
use one or two of the optional carabiner clips to secure the D rings
    together.

    Got one not for me.

Don't think it's as good as other Halti, Gentle Leaders, Gen Con or Dogmatic, aslo if you have a hairy breed (Dogmatic as well) the buckel is a pain to do up
