Does anyone have any advice about aggression when visitors arrive at the door, especially the postman. :san42:

I have tried everything to calm her down...but it is a race to the door when the post arrives. I had one of those letter cages, but Molly caught her claw in the rack, so we had to take it down.

I'm not sure if it's excitement or fear aggression, she is fine when the visitor says hello...they usually get kissed to death or peeed on. :san42:

Marley goes crazy when he sees the postman coming that I'm terrified he goes out of the window one of these days, he sounds and looks like a mad dog BUT he loves our postman, he's been introduced to him from being 6 weeks old and he licks him to death when we take him to the door!! Its the same with the window cleaners.......but the window cleaners have said its only at the front of the house! When we are out he sits and watches them at the back of the houseand not a peep out of him! I think he is just protecting his territory if he knows them or not!!

Never had a problem with the postman but we had a GSD once who hated the binman. In those days they had to come into the garden to fetch the bin & Max would literally lie in wait for him behind the gate. Funniest thing ever!! :2445:

Well...first I don't get chance to introduce her...she just goes hypo! barking...she seems to want to greet the person before I do...or maybe she is just protecting me. I've tried to make her sit...& wait..she will but for one second only...lol.

It's worse with the postman...if she gets the mail...she is better than a shreader.... :san42: The window cleaner...she jumps up at the window barking. I just put her on a lead now...to control her. Last week we had a new postman...it was so funny...because the postman was scared to death...he thought it was a Rottweiler barking. He just ran out of the gate...Molly is a little dog...but with a really loud bark. In April I'm having work done in the house...god knows what will happen to the work men. :san42: I do introduce her to visitors...she is OK with family...its just strangers. Also, alot of visitors don't like dogs or they are afraid to meet her....because of the barking.
