Rescue Centre Worker Charged With Mistreatment of Own Dog

A rescue centre worker has been charged with mistreating her own pet German Shepherd.
The Edinburgh Evening News reports how Lisa Caldwell, 21, who works
at Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home, has been suspended from her job after
being charged by police for causing ‘unnecessary suffering’
to her pet dog.
The newspaper reports how Caldwell has worked at the rescue for 6
months. She was reported to the police on January 10th and officers
visited her ground-floor home in the Pennywell Gardens, area of the
city 4 days later.
Bosses at the rescue centre have said the charges were ”most
disturbing” and ”if it’s true, its completely
unacceptable.”
Caldwell has pleaded not guilty during an appearance at Edinburgh
Sheriff Court on February 18th to two charges under the Animal Health
and Welfare (Scotland) Act 2006. She was accused of ”causing a
protected animal unnecessary suffering by act or emission” and
”failing to meet the needs of a protected animal.”
A further trial has been scheduled for March 26th.

its a bad advertisment for the recue centre hope it does not affect the rehoming of any there dogs
