PostSubject: Dog found in bin bag cannot stand   Wed Mar 04, 2009 11:37 pm

A dog found dumped after what would have been
"years of neglect" still cannot stand more than a week after being
    discovered, the RSPCA said.

The dog, named Precious by the charity, was found after someone
noticed fur poking out of a bin bag at the side of a bypass in Cannock,
    Staffordshire.
The small female dog's coat was so badly matted that it resembled a "pile of dirty rags", the RSPCA said.
Workers from the charity said until she can stand her "future is uncertain".
The small female dog, who is in RSPCA kennels, is believed to be an eight or nine-year-old terrier cross.

Words cannot express how disgusted I am that someone put this dog in a bin liner and tossed her aside in a secluded area to die

    Penny Wieland, RSPCA inspector

She was found at the side of a new bypass at the Orbital retail park leading to the A5 on 22 February.
The discovery by a member of the public "saved the life" of the dog, the animal charity said.
RSPCA inspector Penny Wieland said the condition and smell of the animal was something she would "never forget".
She said: "Her matted coat, which was soaked in urine and excrement, would have taken years of neglect.
"Words cannot express how disgusted I am that someone put this
dog in a bin liner and tossed her aside in a secluded area to die.
"She will require further tests and in order to see if she will use her legs we are taking her to a hydrotherapy pool."
The RSPCA said the dog was on fluids for 48 hours at Pool House
Vets in Lichfield, but she was now eating, drinking and "slowly showing
    some signs of improvement".
Anyone with information has been asked to contact the charity.

OMG i live in Cannock :san41: I hope they got the people who did this on CCTV i would have thought they have got it on that stretch of road

Whoever has done this must be EVIL lets hope they are caught and rot in prison

Its absolutely sickening how human beings can do this to a dog    I just hope the dog survives and gets a new loving home
