after walking fred this afternoon my OH decided he wanted bag of chips,so i waited outside with fred talking to the bloke who works in the shop next door, i noticed a boy walking by with a little white terrier, i laughed and said, oh no, wait for freds barking, and sure enough he had a bark and a growl, and so did the terrier, who then slipped its lead and came running straight at fred.... all hell let loose...the dog was hanging off freds bum, fred managed to slip his halti off and turn round and get the little dog, i got fred off and held his collar high in the air so fred was too high to reach the dog, the little dog was then jumping up and latched onto freds scruff, by this stage i was pissed off and very embarrased lol, some bloke came over and tried to get the little dog, but it was too quick and snappy for him, so i booted the dog and launched it in the air :2431: and then accidentall trod on it :2222: the man managed to grab it, it was still snapping and snarling, he gave it back to the lad, but then the lad went to put it on the floor, the idiot, the shopkeeper then came running out and grabbed the dog, and told him to move it now!!... a man helped the lad to get it as far away as possible.
the shopkeeper was quite nice, and asked if fred was okay, and said the little dog was very lucky it wasnt worse.... i think i did it more damage than fred did :2431: ....
bloody rat dogs and most annoying irresponsible owners!!....

im so pissed off,as you all know freds not too good with other dogs as it is, and this is bound to have set him back,if not made him far worse!!. :mad: :mad: :mad:

whats my next step, what do i do now??... should i take him to PAH tomorrow to mix him with other dogs straight away, or do i keep him away for a while??....... i dont want to make the situation worse...

I would get him near more dogs if I were you. Lots of people say it can make it worse to avoid it.

Bless him. I know what its like though it doesnt take much to set them back a bit but hopefully not too much damage has been done :love:

awww poor fred hope he was ok i agree 2 get him mixed with other dogs straight away so he knows that all dogs ent like that

right shelley get him out and about but beaware you need to not worry tho hun as you know this happend to pup just a couple wks ago and the next day he flipped big time at a bull mastiff *so out of charactor for him* so i stood and talked to the owners for at least 10 mins after telling him off and he instantly relaxed and started rolling on to his back legs in the air lol

sometimes it affects us more then the dogs hun and i would be feeling the same way as you right now but get ya but up to PAT and take treats too so wen you see a dog get them out say wats this and reward him i do this with mine so they learn wen they see a dog look at mum as sweets are coming makes it enjoyable lol but correct any anti socail behaviour hun

cheers hun, ive only just seen this post... i bought treats today at PAH for on the way back home after the incident with the poodle and we never saw a fookin dog, but i gave him treats every time he looked at me. when he sees another dog, he only sees the dog though, not even his ball works as a decoy, and he loves his ball.

lol bless xeana wasnt toy mad wen out but i used garlic sosage and chicken for her worked a treat hun :love:
